PROS
The introductions was inspiring. The person who takes you on the tour is informative and thoroughly answers the questions you ask. I think this is an awesome opportunity for someone who is planning an annual trip, or multiple trips. I like the idea of the buy in and that eventually your trips are prepaid for and you own a piece of real estate that can be inherited. However, I would not want to finance the cost of the packages. I would rather have a large lump sum to pay up front.
CONS
The person who came to explain the cost and fees was impatient and rude. He did a lot of fast talking and didn't seem to appreciate that I was writing in my notebook. It was as if he was offended that I wanted to make an informed decision. He was crass and wanted me to make a rushed decision.
A lady came in after him wanting to offer another vacation package, but at this point I was just ready to leave and I already have vacations planned. I wasn't convinced that the package she was offering was beneficial, but instead an attempt to lock you in to more payments while you're supposedly thinking about your yes or no decision.
My Take Away!
The trip to Orlando was worth it. The accomodations are a great choice for a trip like this, especially for longer trips where you can cook your own food. And my mom watched her clothes! The annual and bi annual fees will require some more research. What are the tax benefits for ownership? Also, I am going to keep track of parking and resort fees as I travel this year, because a point they continued to make is that they add up to the annual fees that Hilton charges.
